A QR only works if a camera can see it
Good QR printing is more about restraint than decoration.
Use the scalable SVG from your profile, keep the modules crisp, preserve the quiet zone and test the actual printed card. A permanent QR is valuable only when it remains easy to scan.
Four rules
Make the code easy for a phone camera to recognise.
Protect the quiet zone
Leave the clear margin immediately around the QR untouched. Do not let text, borders, photos or background artwork crowd the modules.
Prefer dark on light
Black or very dark modules on a light background give the most forgiving scan. Avoid low-contrast colour combinations and reflective finishes over the code.
Test the physical result
A PDF preview is not enough. Print the real stock at the real size and scan it under normal lighting with more than one phone.

A five-minute proof can save an entire box of cards.

Use the QR from the live profile, not an old screenshot or a temporary Builder preview.
Place it at final size
Do not plan to resize the entire card later. The scan reliability depends on the final physical module size and print quality.
Print one proof
Use the intended stock and finish. Matte surfaces are normally easier for cameras than strong glare across the QR.
Scan near and far
Test the card naturally, not only with the camera perfectly centred. If scanning feels fussy, make the QR larger or simplify the surrounding design.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put a logo inside the QR code?
My Contact Profile provides a clean QR without embedded artwork. That is the safer print choice because every covered module reduces scanning margin.
Can the QR be a colour other than black?
It can, but strong contrast matters more than branding. A very dark colour on a light background is much safer than pale or low-contrast combinations.
